La Rentrée is in full swing, and once again we've kick-started the year for our Seconde (Year 11), Première (Year 12) and Terminale (Year 13) students with workshops run by Inner Drive, a UK-based mindset coaching company working in education, business and sport. In addition, Seconde pupils left with a goodie bag containing a number of items designed to help them put their best foot forward in this important year of transition, including:
- British Section alarm clock – adopting positive sleep habits to maximise sleep is fundamental to our mental and physical well-being. We encourage students to implement a ‘digital sunset’, selecting a time in the evening after which they no longer look at phone/computer screens, and remove their phones from their bedrooms. To facilitate this, and reduce reliance their phones to wake them up in the morning, each student has been provided with a British Section alarm clock!
- British Section webcam cover – to be installed on the laptops they'll shortly receive to enhance online security and encourage students to think actively about how they ensure they remain safe online;
- Seconde Survival Guide – helpful information and advice provided by last year’s British Section Seconde students that will help ensure a smooth transition from collège to lycée
- Weekly/Monthly Planning Wall Chart + Pen – students can stick up their wallchart in a visible place at home, populate it with their commitments during the week, and use it to identify where their opportunities are to complete school work, plan free-time etc
- And, of course, the traditional British Section Planner which not only provides students with an organisational year planner to record homework and other information, but also includes a range of personal development resources that we'll be using to support their well-being throughout the year.
